Sympoh Breakdancing Company

Princeton's breakdancing company. Kevin joined freshman year with his core friend group, performed in the Sympoh show Jailbreak, and became a co-publicity officer before stepping back at the start of sophomore year.

What it is

Sympoh is Princeton's breakdancing company, the campus crew for breaking and street dance. It is the home of the movement-and-expression side of Kevin's life (see Breakdancing) and one of the Princeton organizations on his resume. Source: User, 2026-06-07

How Kevin joined

Kevin joined Sympoh his freshman year, and he did not join alone. He came in with his friend group, Derek Wang, Caleb Kha Uong, and Nigel Hu. Sympoh was as much a friend-group activity as a dance crew, the kind of shared thing that pulls a group tighter (see Friends vs Friend Group). Source: User, 2026-06-07

Co-publicity officer, then stepping back

Kevin took on an officer role as a co-publicity officer (co-pub) for Sympoh. He stepped back from it at the start of sophomore year, when he had too much else going on and could not give it the time it deserved.
