What Is Engineering
Engineering is holistic product creation. Research answers questions. Engineering builds things that keep evolving.

Engineering is bigger than STEM. The word gets narrowed in academic contexts to mean "applied science" - solving physics problems, optimizing algorithms, building bridges. But real engineering encompasses product engineering, user engineering, interface design, systems thinking, and research integration. A founding engineer at a startup isn't applying formulas - they're designing interfaces, understanding user behavior, making trade-offs between speed and quality, managing technical debt, and shipping something that real people use every day.
