AI-native code review platform built on top of GitHub: stacked PRs, the Graphite Agent reviewer (formerly Diamond), a stack-aware merge queue, and dev metrics. Acquired by Cursor in December 2025.

Built by Screenplay Studios Inc. (NYC), founded 2020 by Merrill Lutsky, Tomas Reimers, and Greg Foster. Raised a $52M Series B in March 2025 and serves 500+ companies and tens of thousands of engineers, including Shopify, Snowflake, Figma, and Ramp. Stacked PRs

Break large changes into smaller, sequenced reviews — a workflow borrowed from Meta's Phabricator and Google's Critique. Each PR depends on the one below, so reviewers see focused diffs instead of thousand-line PRs and developers keep working on later PRs while earlier ones are in review. Graphite Agent (AI reviewer, formerly Diamond)

Codebase-aware AI reviewer that catches bugs, security issues, style inconsistencies, and accidentally committed code (e.g. a function hard-coded to return true), and suggests fixes on every push. Launched March 2025 as "Diamond," productized from the October 2024 Graphite Reviewer, and claims a sub-3% false-positive rate via whole-repo context. Graphite Chat resolves CI failures and applies suggested fixes in one conversation on the PR page. Priced around $15/active committer/month with a Graphite subscription ($20 standalone). Stack fit (Kevin)

Cursor-native code review — Cursor now owns Graphite and runs Cloud Agents in the PR page, making it the most direct fit for Kevin's Cursor + Claude Code + Codex workflow; the wiki's AGENTS.md already lists Graphite in the Layer 5 (Code Review) tooling stack.
Stacked diffs match the 200-LOC PR rule — Kevin's git workflow caps PRs near 200 LOC and uses stacks for larger changes; Graphite operationalizes exactly that discipline.
Complements local review tools — Graphite Agent is the hosted reviewer, Code Review Graph is the local tree-sitter blast-radius graph, and Security and Review Skills is the staff-engineer review skill. Different layers of one review stack.
Merge queue for parallel agents — stack-aware green-main enforcement is useful when multiple Agent Machines / Dedalus agents open PRs at once.
